ZOE

Rest in peace, our angel that fell from heaven.
In 2009, when I was five years old, a family member found this dog unchipped, uncollared, worse for wear. We rescued and adopted her, and at already a year old, she lived to be 17.
I know that everyone loves their animals and perhaps no one takes them quite as seriously as creating a web page, but I mean it when I say that she was my very best friend. I have been through a difficult life of my own, and every step of the way, every moment where I had no friends, no one to turn to, she remained. She has never once been aggressive or angry. She has never once hurt me. We say that she was an angel that fell out of heaven or was sent by God himself to bless us because she was truly pure like one.
Over the years, she survived her early start, starving and dodging cars. She survived being attacked by a bird of prey that tried to steal her a few years later. A few years after that, she survived leukemia and went into full remission for a couple years. She was a miracle if nothing else and I believe a testament to love. We loved her enough to keep her going, she loved me enough to keep me going. I don't care if it's sappy or strange or lonely, I loved this dog so very much. It breaks my heart to say that she is gone.
Zoe, may you please rest well in heaven where only a soul as kind as you could belong. If not in my arms, in God's now. We loved and love you.
